Extensible Femoral Neck Cannulated Screws is a free-extending cannulated screw designed specifically for the treatment of SCFE and neck fractures in skeletally immature patients. The implant assembly includes a Male component (which is attached to the lateral cortex), a Female component (which anchors the femoral head) and a cap. The telescopic design will elongate with growth thus eliminating the need for a protruding screw position at the lateral cortex or pin advancement revision surgery. Moreover, the implant’s design avoids compression of the growth plate while providing rotational stability.

Q&Bir

Q1:What is an Extensible Femoral Neck Cannulated Screw?

A1:It is a type of adjustable cannulated screw designed for the fixation of pediatric femoral neck fractures. The extensible feature allows the screw to grow or adjust with the child’s bone, reducing the risk of growth disturbance.

Q2:What are the main indications for using this Pediatric Cannulated Screw?

A2:It is mainly indicated for femoral neck fractures in children and adolescents, especially in cases where the growth plate (physis) is still active.

Q3.What materials are used for this hip screw?

A3:Our models are made from medical-grade titanium alloy (Ti-6Al-4V), offering strength, biocompatibility, and resistance to corrosion.

Q4.Can the hip screw be removed later?

A4:Yes, it can be removed after fracture healing, although some surgeons prefer to leave it in place if it’s not causing discomfort or complications.

Q5.What are the advantages of the Extensible Femoral Neck Cannulated Screw for pediatric patients?

A5:It helps maintain bone alignment, preserves growth potential, and reduces revision surgery rates due to its self-adjusting length design.
